The 2007 Pontiac G6 is a very modern car with FM/AM stereo unit. In addition, a CD player that has been in-built is present in the car. Installation of an aftermarket stereo deck is optional to the G6 owners. Moreover, they have a wide variety of options to choose from in case they want to perform the installation. For you to kick off the installation, you will be required to remove the initial head unit in order to make some adaptations of the stereo wiring plus the antenna cables. By doing this, it will be easier for you to make connections for the new unit. You can perform the deck installation by yourself in just a short period of time and this is how to go about it.

I. The first step for you to do is to lift the hood of the 2007 Pontiac G6 using a wrench, in order for you to gain access of loosening the bolt that holds the negative battery cable to the terminal. Ensure that the cable is completely removed from the battery and kept aside. Afterwards, you can enter inside the car.
II. The next step is for you access the glove compartment by simply opening it wide. In order to detach its hatch from the dashboard, push its left side gently. Use the panel removal tool to pry the panel on the right sided of the dashboard. Carefully, remove the bolt screw that is underneath the panel using a socket and drive that has a 7mm measurement. Remove the dash panel after you have carefully removed the screw bolt that is left sided on the glove compartment.
III. Set the head unit aside by sliding it from the dashboard stereo deck. Make a disconnection of the stereo wiring plus the antenna cable from the areas found on the rear panel.
IV. Put in a faceplate adapter in the void stereo deck and pull the stereo wiring as well as the antenna cable from the rear of the deck to the front of the 2007 Pontiac G6 dashboard. In all the leads of harnessing the adapter, ensure that you have plugged the stereo wiring connectors. After you are done doing this make an insertion of the antenna cable lead to fit the GM antenna adapter.
V. The fifth step is for you to make a connection of the wiring harness adapter by the lead connector directly to the corresponding outlets that are on the back panel of the new stereo deck. Make an insertion of the GM antenna adapter lead directly into the FM antenna input on the 2007 Pontiac G6 audio unit on the back panel. Doing this will take you to the level where you will slide the stereo carefully into the faceplate adapter until a snapping sound is emitted meaning that it has been placed carefully in the dashboard.
VI. Make a replacement of all the other items that were there initially e.g. the trim panel, glove compartment, screw bolts, the access panels and lastly the Pontiac’s battery. Ensure that each item is replaced in its original place and tightened tightly in case there was a screw involved.
